Introduction
Bot settings allow you to fine-tune your chatbot's behavior, personality, and responses. This guide covers all available configuration options.
General Settings
Bot Name & Description
Give your bot a memorable name and description:
- Bot Name: Displayed in the chat interface
- Description: Internal reference for your team
- Bot ID: Unique identifier (auto-generated)
Language Settings
Configure your bot's primary language:
- English (default)
- Arabic
- Spanish
- French
- German
- And 20+ more languages
Multi-language support is available on Pro and Enterprise plans.
Behavior Settings
Personality
Choose your bot's personality style:
- Professional: Formal and business-like
- Friendly: Warm and approachable
- Casual: Relaxed and conversational
- Custom: Define your own personality traits
Response Length
Control how detailed your bot's responses are:
- Concise: Short, direct answers
- Balanced: Medium-length responses (recommended)
- Detailed: Comprehensive explanations
Confidence Threshold
Set the minimum confidence level for responses (0-100%):
- Low (50%): Bot answers more questions, may be less accurate
- Medium (70%): Balanced approach (recommended)
- High (85%): Only answers when very confident
Fallback Settings
Unknown Questions
Configure what happens when the bot doesn't know the answer:
- Apologize: "I don't know the answer to that"
- Suggest Topics: Offer related topics
- Collect Email: Ask for email to follow up
- Transfer to Human: Hand off to live support (Pro)
Business Hours
Set your availability schedule:
- Configure hours for each day of the week
- Set timezone
- Custom offline message
- Auto-response during off-hours
Advanced Settings
Conversation Memory
Control how much context the bot remembers:
- Short (5 messages): Recent context only
- Medium (10 messages): Balanced memory
- Long (20 messages): Extended conversation context
Rate Limiting
Prevent spam and abuse:
- Maximum messages per user per minute
- Cooldown period between messages
- Block abusive users automatically
Rate limiting helps protect your message quota and prevents abuse.
Integrations
Connect your bot to other services:
- CRM: Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho
- Email: Send conversation transcripts
- Slack: Notifications for new conversations
- Webhooks: Custom integrations
Saving Changes
After making changes:
- Review your settings
- Click "Save Changes"
- Changes apply immediately to your live bot
- Test your bot to verify the changes
